Rustam Minnikhanov: “We are interested in experience of Bilkent University”

On December 1, Tatarstan delegation led by the President Rustam Minnikhanov visited one of the biggest universities in Turkey – the private university “Bilkent”, where the presentations of the university and of Tatarstan economy and investment potential were made.
Students from Tatarstan, who study at Bilkent University welcomed Rustam Minnikhanov by the entrance.
Turkish Minister of National Education Nabi Avci, governor of Eskişehir province Güngör Azim Tuna, deputy of Turkish Parliament Ismail Safi, TURKSOY Secretary General Dusein Kaseinov, and executives of Bilkent holding attended the presentation.
Rector of Bilkent University Abdullah Atalar told members of the Tatarstan delegation that the university is a part of one of the biggest holdings in Turkey – Bilkent that comprises 45 other companies. First students started studying at the university in 1986, and there are currently 13, 000 students. The university has technical, humanitarian and economic departments, nanotechnological center, laboratories, and a concert hall.
Abdullah Atalar also told about other enterprises of the holding, including Tere Company that constructed Sisecam and Coşkunöz plants in Alabuga Special Economic Zone (Tatarstan, Elabuga).
Speaking at the event, Rustam Minnikhanov thanked management of the university for a warm reception and opportunity to make a presentation. He noted that Tatarstan actively cooperates with Turkey, and big projects with participation of Turkish capital are implemented in the republic.
Minnikhanov also said that sharing experience in the sphere of education and science is a priority area for Tatarstan, and the republic is interested in educational programmes of Bilkent University.
Tatarstan First Deputy Minister of Industry and Trade Ruslan Kabirov made a presentation about economy of the republic and called Turkish investments for investing in different spheres.
Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina told about investment potential of the republic and favourable conditions provided for investors.
Director of Kazan IT-park Anton Grachev, who took part in the event, told about Innopolis project.
Speaking at the event, Nabi Avci said that Tatarstan and Turkey have a huge potential for cooperation, and he was glad to hear about establishment of Innopolis University in the republic.
A memorandum of understanding and scientific-educational cooperation between Tatarstan Ministry of Information and Communications and Bilkent University was signed at the end of the presentation
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
