Rustam Minnikhanov: “Tatarstan mechanical engineering enterprises should join their efforts”

On December 3, participants of the second session of coordination council of Tatarstan mechanical engineering enterprises that was held within the framework of the 14th specialized exhibition "Mechanical engineering. Metalworking. Kazan” discussed issues of development of Tatarstan mechanical engineering industry.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Minister of Industry and Trade Ravil Zaripov, heads of enterprises, representatives of major Russian and foreign companies took part in the event.
Opening the session, Rustam Minnikhanov said that work of the Coordination council is very important for the republic and the whole country.
“Tatarstan is a region with developed industrial potential. Mechanical engineering complex is one of the most important economic sectors in the republic. There are 150 large and medium-size enterprises with 140, 000 employees in total,” Minnikhanov said.
The president also told about measure of state support for mechanical engineering enterprises and the network of resource centers of professional education, and engineering centers of laser technologies and medical simulators being created in Tatarstan.
Minnikhanov continued that the volume of supplies of Tatarstan enterprises for major Russian companies, such as OAO “Russian railways”, OAO “Gasprom”, “Lukoil”, made 14 billion roubles last year.
According to Minnikhanov, mechanical engineering enterprises help to realize modernization and create high-technology production. He mentioned the long-term programme of technological upgrade implemented by OAO “KAMAZ” Automaker.
Tatarstan President also noted that regional enterprises should take an active part in federal programmes, and that import substitution is a priority area of industrial policy in Russia. “Russian Federation and the Republic of Tatarstan are open for opening production facilities of foreign companies on their territories. I think we will hear a lot of interesting opinions at today’s session. Mechanical engineering enterprises should join their efforts,” he said.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
