Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation Alexander Novak takes part in launching new electrical power unit and visits Kazan State Power Engineering University

On December 27, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation  Alexander Novak, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov, Chairman of the State Duma Committee on Energy Ivan Grachev, Deputy Mayor of Moscow for Urban Development and Construction Marat Khusnullin participated in the ceremony of launching a new electrical power unit, a combined cycle plant with a capacity of 220 MW named after V.K.Shibanov at Kazan CHPP-2.
It should be noted that the project at the cost of 11.5 billion roubles is a part of investment programme, implemented by OAO “Power Generation Company”. To the point, the new combined cycle plant is included in the list of power generating units.
After honored guests pressed a symbolic button to start up the unit, the tour around CHPP-2 was held.  
Then, Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation  Alexander Novak accompanied by Tatarstan President and other officials visited Kazan State Power Engineering University, where he communicated with the students, acquainted with the activity of the Centre of competence and energy-saving technologies.

In addition, the Minister of Energy of the Russian Federation visited a dwelling-house on Akademik  Korolev Street where the program of changing heat supply systems from central heating stations into individual automatic heating units has been realized.
