Tatarstan President meets Senior Vice-President of Olam International (Singapore)

On January 20, at his meeting with Senior Vice-President of Olam International (Singapore) Raj Vardhan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov discussed prospects of cooperation. Minnikhanov noted that the republic has high agricultural potential and is interested in attracting investments in the industry.
Olam International is the largest holding in the world agricultural market. The company sells the whole range of food products in 65 countries, from seeds to groceries. In Russia Olam International owns 75 per cent of shares of “Rusmoloko” company (Penza) and supplies different types of grain, and coffee beans for Russian producers.
Tatarstan Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Akhmetov and Aide to Tatarstan President on international issues Radik Gimatdinov took part in the meeting.
On 10 January, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipality regions taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatutllin informed that in the current year the Ministry will take part in implementation of five national projects and three state programmes with planned construction and capital overhaul of 172 facilities for the total sum of 17bn rubles.
On 10 January, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipality regions taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov informed that it is expected to achieve a comparable growth of produce of 1.5%, including that in food production - at least 2.6% in the agricultural sector.
On 4 January Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who is the First Deputy Chairman of the Commission of prevention and elimination of emergency situation and ensuring fire safety of the republic, has taken a decision to put into operation the “Buran” (Snow storm) plan in Tatarstan starting from 2 pm on 4 January until the consequences of adverse meteorological events are eliminated by ministries, departments and organizations which ensure the smooth movement of road and rail transport in winter.
On 3 January on the errand from the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov, the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who is the First Deputy Chairman of the Commission of prevention and elimination of emergency situations and ensuring fire safety of the republic , held an urgent meeting of the Commission which discussed readiness of forces and means to ensure security during the New Year and Christmas holidays.
