Tatarstan President: “Good team is working at State Committee on Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan”

On February 9, at a session of State Committee on Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan with participation of Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Head of Federal Agency on Tourism Oleg Safonov, it was noted that the main task of tourism industry of the republic is to increase the tourist flow.
Making report at the session, Head of State Committee on Tourism of the Republic of Tatarstan Sergey Ivanov said that the volume of rendered services in the sphere of tourism in 2014 made 10.03 billion roubles, budget revenues make 350 million roubles per year, 37, 000 people work in the industry, 2.5 million tourists visited Tatarstan in 2014 (the 5th result among Russian regions).
Organized tourist flow in Sviyazhsk increased by 68 per cent, in Bolgar – by 48 per cent. Inclusion of Bolgar in UNESCO World Heritage List gave impetus to increasing tourist flow in the town.
According to Ivanov, Tatarstan is one of the most developed regions in the sphere of hotel services in the country. Therefore, the load of existing tourist infrastructure should be increased, and work on promoting tourist opportunities of Tatarstan on Russian and international markets should be intensified.
Also, important tasks for 2015 are development of tourism recreation clusters and preparation for World Aquatics Championship and World Football Cup.
Ivanov called for developing tourism in municipalities and paying attention to new types of tourism – medical, educational and rural. He also addressed Rustam Minnikhanov with request to create a Coordination Council on tourism under chairmanship of Tatarstan President.
Safonov said that Tatarstan is one of the most developed regions in the sphere of tourism in the country, and thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for his personal attention to the industry. He also told about current situation in the sphere of tourism mentioning decrease of international tourism and increase of domestic tourism.
Minnikhanov thanked Rustam Minnikhanov for supporting the republic, and noted that big sports events, and Sabantui holiday will be popular among tourists.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
