Tatarstan President: “Our task is to provide quality education in the republic”

On February 10, at a session of Tatarstan Security Council “On improving the system of general education in the Republic of Tatarstan” Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that providing quality education throughout the republic is the main task of the system of general education for the short-term.
Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin, members of Tatarstan Security Council, heads of ministries and agencies, municipalities, universities, took part in the session.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that for many years Tatarstan has been the leader in Volga Federal District by results of participation of school teams in Russian Olympiads, the average results by unified state examination is higher than average results in the country.
“Our main task is to provide affordability of education in the republic and competitiveness of our graduates, and our further actions should be aimed at solving urgent and challenging tasks,” Minnikhanov said.
Teachers and managers in the sphere of education should be real professionals, and it requires certain level of work from the Ministry of education and its subdivisions.
It was noted that problems with career guidance of graduates are still urgent.
Minnikhanov asked to reconsider work of curriculum offices and pay attention to work of regional educational departments.
Making report at the session, Minister of Education and Science Engel Fattakhov said that solid funds have been invested in the sphere of education for informational support, purchase of equipment and major repair during the last few years.
Fattakhov noted that methodical support in regions is not efficient enough, and ungraded schools do not have prospects for further development.
Rustam Minnikhanov supported the minister’s proposal regarding reduction of the number of ungraded schools in the republic.
Also, Tatarstan President asked Ministry of Finance and Ministry of Education and Science to develop a new system of teacher’s salary accounting based on results of their work.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
