Head of Tatarstan government Rustam Minnikhanov met with film director Nikita Mikhalkov

RT Prime Minister Rustam Minnikhanov held meeting with Chairman of Russian Filmmakers' Union, film director Nikita Mikhalkov at the House of RT Government. They talked about development of regional and national cinema at large and international festival of Muslim cinema “Golden Minbar” in particular.

Nikita Mikhalkov considers that the festival has found its niche at the film market.

Rustam Minnikhanov and Nikita Mikhalkov also discussed issues of governmental support of film production and plans on developing Kazan film studio. By words of Nikita Mikhalkov Kazan film studio enjoys serious perspectives not only for shooting films but for rendering film services for neighbouring regions. Kazan may become the area for further discussion of issues regarding development of cinematography.

By words of RT Ministry of culture Zilya Valeeva possible holding of visiting sessions of Russian Filmmakers' Union secretariat was likewise touched upon at the meeting.

We remind that Nikita Mikhalkov also took part in a work of “round table” “Russian cinematography in unity and diversity of national cultures” held at the Kazan city hall within the framework of film festival “Golden Minbar”.
