Rustam Minnikhanov: We appreciate high level of relations between Tatarstan and Turkey and put much emphasis on developing cooperation

On February 18, at his meeting with the Turkish delegation at Tatarstan Government House, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said: “We appreciate high level of relations between Tatarstan and Turkey and put much emphasis on developing cooperation aimed at strengthening friendly relations between Russia and Turkey.”
The Turkish delegation consists of representatives of the Association of Exporters of Eastern Anatolia, Association of Exporters of Mediterranean region, Sasu Company (seafood production), organized industrial zone “Erzurum”, Association of Exporters of animal products, Guney Sut (production of milk and juices), Association of Exporters of forest products, and Intertim (production of wood and packaging products).
Minnikhanov said that with its 25 per cent on investments in the republicTurkey is the main foreign economic partner of Tatarstan. He also reminded about the session of Russia-Turkey intergovernmental commission held in 2011 in Kazan and Russian-Turkish Public Forum 2014. Also, a session of Russian-Turkish high level council is planned to be held at the end of 2015.
The visit of the Chairman of Turkish Parliament is expected in March 2015, and Tatarstan delegation will visit Ankara in April.
Minnikhanov told about development of Turkish enterprises in Special Economic Zone “Alabuga”.
“We will actively support projects in agricultural industry, banking sector, tourism, and medicine,” Minnikhanov said.
Tatarstan President thanked Turkish authorities for organizing direct flights between Kazan and Istanbul.
The parties also discussed development of cooperation in new areas such as manufacturing of fish and animal products.

On 31 January, speaking at a meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with participation of the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and all municipality regions taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Deputy Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Damir Shaydullin reported that capital overhaul of nine school in eight municipalities of the republic has started.
On 28 January Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in an extended joint meeting of the Main Directorate of Russian Emergencies Ministry for Tatarstan and a collegium of the Ministry for Civil Defense, Emergency Management and Natural Disaster Response of the republic which summarized results of work of the territorial subsystem of the unified state system for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations of the republic in 2025 and set tasks for 2026.
In his keyword report the Head of the Main Directorate Irek Kadamov informed that there were 3 758 man-caused fires in the republic which killed 128 people and injured 177. Through joint efforts, we have managed to reduce the number of man-caused fires by more than 10%, the number of injured by 12 per cent, however the number of killed increased by 13 people, he said.
On 28 January at a ceremony held as a part of a meeting summarizing results of work of the territorial subsystem of the unified state system for the prevention and elimination of emergency situations of the republic in 2025 and setting tasks for 2026, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and the Head of the Main Directorate of Russian Emergencies Ministry for Tatarstan Irek Kadamov handed in keys for 24 new fire and rescue vehicles purchased at the expense of the regional budget to units of the Directorate and Tatarstan Emergencies Ministry.
On 27 January, speaking at an extended meeting of the Tatarstan Prosecutor’s Office which summarized results of work of the Office for 2025 and set tasks for strengthening law and order in 2026 and which was held with participation of Russian Deputy General Prosecutor Nikoly Shishkin and the Chief Federal Inspector for the republic Viktor Demidov, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin thanked employees of the Office for good work and high professionalism.
