Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov and Director General of OOO “Gazprom Natural Gas Motor Fuel” Mikhail Likhachev have signed plan of actions (the “road map”) of the project on developing compressed natural gas (CNG) powered vehicles.

During his meeting with Mikhail Likhachev at Tatarstan Government House, Ildar Khalikov noted that the republic is one of the largest gas consumers, and OAO “KAMAZ”, a producer of CNG powered vehicles is located in Tatarstan.

According to Khalikov, Tatarstan has actively cooperated with Gazprom Natural Gas Motor Fuel since 2013. Also, Tatarstan companies bought 262 CNG powered buses under trilateral agreement signed between Tatarstan Government, OAO “Gasprom” and OOO “Gazprom Gas-Engine Fuel”. It was noted that 764 million roubles of federal funds were allocated in 2014 to purchase CNG powered vehicles for the housing and utilities sector.

Khalikov expressed his hope that the programme would continue in 2015.

According to Prime Minister, LNG plant is planned to be built in the republic.
