On February 25, Kazan citizens said farewell to a famous party and state figure of the republic, Chairman of the Council of ministers of TASSR (1996 – 1982), first Secretary of Tatar regional committee of the Communist party of the Soviet Union Gumer Usmanov.
Civil funeral rites took place at the national cultural center “Kazan”.
Gumer Usmanov died yesterday.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, Chairman of State Council Farid Mukhametshin, and Aide to Tatarstan President Ravil Muratov came to express condolences to relatives of Gumer Usmanov.
“Today we are saying farewell to our dear Gumer Ismagilovich, who devoted all his life to the republic and our country,” Rustam Minnikhanov said. The president noted that Gumer Usmanov head government of the republic at the age of 16 and was the first Secretary of Tatar regional committee of the Communist party of the Soviet Union.
“He had a good knowledge of all economic sectors and worked very hard for development of rural areas and agricultural industry. He created that foundation for development of the republic and its future achievements,” Rustam Minnikhanov continued.
Speaking about work of Gumer Usmanov as Chairman of the Council of ministers of TASSR Mintimer Shaimiev said: “That time Chairman of the Council of ministers had the right to work hard and there was no other choice. It is not easy, you have to be brave and patient. Everything that was happening in the republic describes Gumer Ismagilovich very well.”
Gumer Usmanov was buried at Tatar cemetery in Novo-Tatarskaya sloboda.
On 5 February Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in ceremony of awarding winners of the regional competition “The Woman of the Year. The Man of the Year: A Woman’s View” held at the Korston Leisure and Recreation Center in Kazan.
On 4 March at a briefing in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Minister of Land and Property Relation Fanil Agliullin told about changes in land legislation enforced from 1 March of the current year. He said that they simplify a number of procedures for land plot owners including expanding the possibilities for land use and changing the rules for changing the category of a plot.
On 2 March in her address on the occasion of the Mentor’s Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: “Since 2025 this holiday established by Russian President Vladimir Putin has occupied a worthy place in the calendar of significant dates of our country, emphasizing the high status and significance of the mentoring mission.
On 28 February, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Director of the Fund “The Institute of Development of Tatarstan Cities” Nailya Nagumanova informed about preparation to the implementation of the Our Yard programme in the republic.
