Rustam Minnikhanov: “The sphere of education can be one of the most important areas of cooperation between Tatarstan and Iran”

On March 8, at his meeting with Iranian Vice-president for science and technology Sorena Sattari, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that the sphere of education can be one of the most important areas of cooperation between Tatarstan and Iran.
Rustam Minnikhanov is on a working visit in Iran on March 8-10.
Minnikhanov said that education and science are the most prospective areas today and 40 Iranian students study in Tatarstan. According to Tatarstan President, cooperation can be intensified due to organization of student exchange between Iranian and Tatarstan universities.
Rustam Minnikhanov also paid attention to cooperation in the sphere of IT, nanotechnologies, robotics, and use of new materials.
As for the sphere of culture, Iranian film makers take part in Kazan international festival of Muslim cinema, concerts of Iranian music, exhibitions and Week of Tabriz culture are held in Kazan.
Tatarstan President noted that cooperation in the sphere of tourism and sport should be developed. He also reminded about World Aquatics Championship 2015 and World Football Cup 2018 that will be held in Kazan. Kazan is the sports center of Russia, Rustam Minnikhanov said.
Minnikhanov continued that he appreciates opportunity to develop cooperation with Iran within the framework of Russia-Iranian relations and thanked leadership of Iran for organization of the visit.

On 5 February Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in ceremony of awarding winners of the regional competition “The Woman of the Year. The Man of the Year: A Woman’s View” held at the Korston Leisure and Recreation Center in Kazan.
On 4 March at a briefing in the Government House of the republic Tatarstan Minister of Land and Property Relation Fanil Agliullin told about changes in land legislation enforced from 1 March of the current year. He said that they simplify a number of procedures for land plot owners including expanding the possibilities for land use and changing the rules for changing the category of a plot.
On 2 March in her address on the occasion of the Mentor’s Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: “Since 2025 this holiday established by Russian President Vladimir Putin has occupied a worthy place in the calendar of significant dates of our country, emphasizing the high status and significance of the mentoring mission.
On 28 February, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Director of the Fund “The Institute of Development of Tatarstan Cities” Nailya Nagumanova informed about preparation to the implementation of the Our Yard programme in the republic.
