Upon arrival Rustam Minnikhanov talked to a famous ballet dancer, ballet-master, people’s artist of the USSR, laureate of state prize of the USSR Vladimir Vasiliev, who said that the visit to opening of Kazan choreographic school was a surprise for him.

“It is a very happy day for those, who will live here, for the theatre and everyone, who likes the art of choreography. When I was studying at choreographic school in Moscow, unfortunately we did not have a boarding school. I was living with my parents and spent every day at the school from 10 a.m. till late evening. People who will live here will be focusing on art. There are all necessary conditions to become real artists,” Vasiliev said.

Tatarstan President looked around the building, the living-room, and medical unit, computer class and residential facilities.

“Today’s event is a part of cultural life of our region and a prologue for our dream to make Kazan one of the centers of choreographic art,” Director of Kazan choreographic school Tatyana Shakhnina said. She thanked Rustam Minnikhanov, Mayor of Kazan Ilsur Metshin and builders.
