Rustam Minnikhanov: modernization of Kazan heat power station-3 is a strategic project

On March 23, at his meeting with top managers of GAMA company (Turkey) in Kazan, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Turkish businessmen for their interest in projects implemented in the republic and noted that cooperation between Tatarstan and Turkey is actively developing.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that Mayor of Istanbul Kadir Topbaş and Turkish Minister of Economy Nihat Zeybekci are going to visit Kazan soon. Also, a meeting of the High-Level Russian-Turkish Cooperation Council with the participation of leaders of Russia ad Turkey will be held in Kazan at the end of 2015.
Minnikhanov noted that investments of Turkish companies make one fourth of all foreign investments in Tatarstan.
Also, the tractor factory that was opened in cooperation with Cukurova company at OAO ElAZ is successfully working in the republic.
The president positively estimated the project of GAMA company on modernization of Kazan heat power station-3 that is being implemented with OAO “TAIF”.
“Energy sector is the basis of economy, and this is a strategic project for us,” he said.
A representative of GAMA briefly told about the history of the company that was founded in 1959. The company’s offices are located in 25 countries, including Russia. The projects are realized in energy sector, petrochemistry, and construction of large oil processing enterprises.
Minnikhanov suggested creating a working group with representatives of Tatarstan and Turkey to determine areas of joint interests. The Republic of Tatarstan will be presented by the minister of industry and trade Ravil Zaripov.

On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.

There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
