Rustam Minnikhanov: “Revival” Foundation united those who are not indifferent to history and cultural heritage of Tatarstan”

On March 23, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in a solemn ceremony dedicated to 5th anniversary of non-profit organization “Regional foundation of the revival of historical and cultural monuments” at Kachalov Kazan academic Russian big drama theatre.
Chairman of the Board of guardians of the “Revival” Foundation, State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev, CEO of the foundation Tatyana Larionova, heads of ministries and agencies and municipal regions took part in the event.
Rustam Minnikhanov welcomed participants of the event and said that the “Revival” Foundation is unique because it united efforts and coordinated actions of different organizations and people. He stressed that unprecedented work was done in a short time, and a lot of objects that were destroyed 5 years ago have been restored.
“First Tatarstan President Mintimer Shaimiev initiated restoration of holy places and started reconstruction of monuments of Islamic and Orthodox cultures, and became the leader of spiritual renewal of the society. Your personal authority, experience of work as a state leader and humanity were the basis of your success,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
The “Revival” Foundation united those who are not indifferent to history and cultural heritage of Tatarstan. From the first days of realization Russian President Vladimir Putin has supported the project. The revival of Tatarstan historical heritage is the national mission today.
Minnikhanov noted that the foundation attracted federal and regional funds for implementing target programmes. Regional ministries and agencies, and biggest industrial enterprises, - Tatneft, TAIF and KAMAZ rendered invaluable help. Russian and foreign investors and banks took part in reconstruction of Bolgar and Sviyazhsk. Charitable donations were also made by famous Russian businessmen.
Reconstruction work is carried out in cooperation with Spiritual Administration of Muslims, Tatarstan and Kazan metropolia.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, active cooperation with Russian Ministry of Internal Affairs, Ministry of Culture and Ministry of Finance the project is being successfully realized.
Speaking about future plans, the president said that certain work need to be done at river stations and a hotel is to be built in Bolgar.
Mintimer Shaimiev said that Tatarstan citizens can be proud of achievements of the “Revival” Foundation, and participation in reconstruction of historical monuments has become a national mission. Shaimiev noted that it is important to develop domestic tourism and attract foreign guests. He also expressed his special gratitude to Rustam Minnikhanov for his support.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
On 1 December Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin took part in N.I. Lobachevsky Prize and Medal Award Ceremony held in Kazan Federal University and handed in the award to the Corresponding Member of the Russian Academy of Sciences, Chief Researcher of the St. Petersburg Department of Steklov Mathematical Institute of the Russian Academy of Sciences Sergei Ivanov who was awarded for the outstanding achievements in fundamental and applied mathematics.
