Rustam Minnikhanov suggests making Kazan the site of venture business

On April 23, at a plenary session of the 15th Russian venture fair and 10th Kazan venture fair "Innovative eco-system of Russia - possible scenarios in present and future", and II International conference "Partnership for development of clusters" - "Clusters as drivers for development strategy of Russian regions" held by Director of Investment and venture fund of the Republic of Tatarstan Ainur Aideldinov, Acting Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov suggested making Kazan the federal site for developing venture investments.
Chairman of Tatarstan State Council Farid Mukhametshin, Deputy Minister of Economic Development Oleg Fomichev, Director General of “Russian Venture Company” Igor Agamirzyan, CEO of Russian Venture Capital Association Albina Nikkonen, Deputy board chairman of Rosnano, Director General of the Fund of infrastructural and educational programmes Andrei Svinarenko, managing director of DFJ VTB Aurora (the USA) Alexandra Johnson, Ambassador of Ireland to the Russian Federation Eoin O’Leary took part in the session.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that the Kazan venture fair is held for the 10th time and it has become a good place for presentation of innovative projects,
meetings of venture investors, representatives of development institutes, and experts. He noted that higher educational institutions, scientific community should be more actively involved in this work, and international contacts in this sphere should be expanded. 38 projects are presented at the fair this year.
According to Rustam Minnikhanov, Kazan can become a place for developing Russian innovative and venture business. Igor Agamirzyan supported his idea.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
