Rustam Minnikhanov: Tatarstan carries out work on preparation for World Football Cup 2018 and FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 in Kazan according to the plan

On April 28, at a session of regional organizing committee “Russia- 2018”, Acting Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan carries out work on preparation for World Football Cup 2018 and FIFA Confederations Cup 2017 in Kazan according to the plan.
Director General of ANO “Organizing committee “Russia- 2018” Aleksei Sorokin, Tatarstan Minister of Youth Affairs and Sport Vladimir Leonov, representatives of regional ministries and agencies took part in the event.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan has gained experience in holding large-scale sports events and that work on preparation for matches of World Football Cup 2018 is carried out in cooperation with federal, regional and municipal authorities. Minnikhanov reminded that Kazan-Arena stadium will be the main venue of the championship. Also, sports venues that will be used as training sites are to be reconstructed.
Sorokin thanked leadership of the republic for the contribution to the bid campaign of Russia for the right to host World Football Cup 2018.
“Tatarstan and Kazan are reliable partners of the Organizing committee “Russia- 2018” during preparation for World Football Cup 2018 and FIFA Confederations Cup 2017,” Sorokin said. He reminded that an inspection visit of FIFA to Kazan will take place in August 2015.
Vladimir Leonov told about preparation of Kazan-Arena stadium, communication, IT, health care and transport infrastructure for the matches.

On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
