Rustam Minnikhanov: Development of mono-towns is one of priority tasks for Tatarstan

On May 12, at his meeting with Director General of non-profit organization “Fund of the development of mono-towns” Dmitri Skrivanov, Interim President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that development of mono-towns is one of priority tasks for the republic.
Speaking at the meeting, Minnikhanov noted that the year was economically tough for the republic. Crisis affected a number of city-forming enterprises which resulted in decline of industrial production and job cuts. These problems will hardly be solved without federal support, he added.
Head of Zelenodolsk region Aleksandr Tygin said that on April 8 the Fund of the development of mono-towns made a decision to allocate subsidies to Zelenodolsk. Tygin told that an organized industrial and logistics zone, the Novaya Tura technopolis, will be created in the town.
“Diversification of the town and excessive dependence on city-forming enterprises are the main purposes of the project,” Tygin sad.
The project also implies construction of an Interregional agro-industrial distribution center, the Novaya Tura Agropolis.
Making report at the meeting, Head of Naberezhnye Chelny executive committee Natalia Kropotova stated that there has been a decrease in Russian truck market by 48 per cent in January-March of 2015. Because of decrease of production at KAMAZ truck manufacturer employees of the enterprises started working part-time. The unemployment rate is going up in the town, Kropotova continued.
Therefore, six investment projects of economic diversification,- Kama industrial park “Master”, industrial park “Development”, industrial park “Chelny”, and metallurgical plant “Naberezhnye Chelny Tube Works”, synthetic sapphire manufacturing plant, and technopolis for poultry production and processing have been prepared to smooth the situation.
Dmitri Skrivanov noted that projects of development of Zelenodolsk and Naberezhnye Chelny are unique and Fund of the development of mono-towns is interested in realization of these projects.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
