Mintimer Shaimiev speaks at session at Russian Federation Council

On May 20, Tatarstan State Counsellor, Chairman of the Board of Guardians of Regional Foundation for the Revival of Historical and Cultural Monuments Mintimer Shaimiev made a report “On the revival of spirituality in the Russian Federation” at the 374th session of Russian Federation Council in Moscow. He told about experience of the republic in the sphere of the revival of historical and cultural heritage.
“We know Mintimer Shaimiev as an outstanding authoritative politician. He was the leader of the biggest republic – Tatarstan for 20 years, the hardest time of the formation of modern Russia. We know the republic was rapidly developing under leadership of our well-regarded Mintimer Shaimiev. Today, the republic is of the leading regions in Russia in terms of economic, social, infrastructural and investment development. For seven years Mintimer Shaimiev has been a member of the Federation Council,” Russian Federation Council Speaker Valenina Matviyenko said.
Mintimer Shaimiev told about creation of the “Revival” Foundation and reconstruction of unique monuments – Bolgar and Sviyazhsk, and reminded that Bolgar historical and archeological complex was included in UNESCO World Heritage List last year.
Speaking about the spiritual revival of people, Shaimiev said it is the most difficult task. He thanked everyone who contributed to reconstruction of historical and cultural monuments, naming main benefactors.

On 12 January, congratulating employees of the prosecutor’s office with their professional holiday - Day of the employee of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation- Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin wrote in his address:
“For more than three centuries the prosecutor's office has been the guardian of state and public security as well as constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens of our country.
On 10 January, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipality regions taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatutllin informed that in the current year the Ministry will take part in implementation of five national projects and three state programmes with planned construction and capital overhaul of 172 facilities for the total sum of 17bn rubles.
On 10 January, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipality regions taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov informed that it is expected to achieve a comparable growth of produce of 1.5%, including that in food production - at least 2.6% in the agricultural sector.
On 4 January Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who is the First Deputy Chairman of the Commission of prevention and elimination of emergency situation and ensuring fire safety of the republic, has taken a decision to put into operation the “Buran” (Snow storm) plan in Tatarstan starting from 2 pm on 4 January until the consequences of adverse meteorological events are eliminated by ministries, departments and organizations which ensure the smooth movement of road and rail transport in winter.
