Republic of Peru interested in learning experience of Tatarstan in creation and development of Special Economic Zones

On May 27, at Peruvian Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism in Lima, Acting President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov held a meeting with Acting Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru Edgar Vasquez to discuss issues related to mutually beneficial cooperation between Tatarstan and Peru. Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Russian Federation to the Republic of Peru Andrey Guskov took part in the event.
Rustam Minnikhanov said that the collaboration between our republics is being established within the framework of Russia –Peru partnership. It should be mentioned that the meeting on discussing further relationship in the sphere of transport vehicle manufacturing, the visit to Modasa plant producing buses on KAMAZ chassis took place earlier. Another meeting with business representatives to be held later the same day will be dedicated to presenting economical and investment potential of Tatarstan Republic. Agreement between Tatarstan Chamber of Commerce and Industry and Peruvian Association of Exporters (ADEX) is expected to be signed there.
Rustam Minnikhanov emphasized that the current meetings will contribute to collaboration between Tatarstan and Peruvian business representatives and invited leading businessmen of Peru to visit Kazan to get better acquainted with the republic and define the areas for further collaboration in the spheres of machine engineering, petrochemical industry, novel materials, high technologies, IT development, innovation, agriculture, sports and tourism.
Being one of the leading research and educational centres of Russia, Tatarstan Republic is willing to increase the number of students from Peru.
Acting Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru Edgar Vasquez informed that he visited Kazan in 2012 within the framework of Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation summit. “We closely cooperate with Russia and are interested in regions as well. It is essential to find the ways of collaboration to allow increase goods turnover. Tatarstan can play an important role in the process”, Edgar Vasquez added.
Deputy Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru made a report on developing tourism in Peru and increasing tourist flow from Russia.
According to Acting Minister of Foreign Trade and Tourism of Peru Edgar Vasquez, Peru is interested in adopting experience of Tatarstan in creation and development of Special Economic Zones as they are learning the international experience on the issue.
Rustam Minnikhanov noted that Tatarstan is ready to share its experience with Peruvian colleagues.
Andrey Guskov concluded that the visit will give impetus to further development of the partnership between Russia and Peru.

On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
On May 14, Prime Minister of Tajikistan Kokhir Rasulzoda, who arrived on a working visit in Kazan to take part in the events of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, was met by Prime Minister of the republic Aleksey Pesoshin and other officials at the Kazan International Airport.
