More than 1600 unauthorized landfills found in Tatarstan during ecological two-month campaign

On June 2, at a briefing of Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers, Minister of Ecology and Natural Resources of the republic Artem Sidorov informed that the sanitary-ecological two-month campaign was carried out in the republic on April 1-May 31.
As a result of supervisory measures, 1, 635 unauthorized landfills have been found. More than 7, 000 violations in the sphere of waste treatment have been revealed. 79 owners of territories had big violations of environmental legislation. According to the minister, administrative actions have been taken against 1, 212 legal parties and officials.
Fines for legal parties make 500, 000 roubles, and 1 million roubles in case of repeat violation.
The speaker reminded that the regional contest “School eco-patrol” was held for the first time this year. Pupils were sending pictures of landfills to the Ministry of Ecology using a special mobile application. Thus, 1, 463 messages were sent, measures were taken by 1, 166 of them.
The campaign on cleaning parks, squares, beaches and public places will be held in 15 towns of Tatarstan on June 5.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
