Dmitry Medvedev: “Opening of Innopolis is an important event for development of Russia”

On June 9, Chairman of Russian Government Dmitry Medvedev, Russian Minister of Communications and Mass Media Nikolay Nikiforov, Interim President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in opening of the new city “Innopolis” located 40 kilometers away from Kazan.
Innopolis main mission is to give highly skilled specialists the opportunity to realize their potential in Russia, by creating high quality products and services. It should become a place for attracting IT professionals.
In 2012, Chairman of Russian Government Dmitry Medvedev laid the capsule with the message addressed to future residents of the city. The basic infrastructure has been built in three years.
Speaking at the ceremony, Medvedev said that he had the feeling of deep satisfaction.
“Three years ago we were standing here with Rustam Minnikhanov and my colleagues, and there was nothing but an open field, a beautiful place. Now we see the whole city that was built from scratch, which has a bright recognizable name, Innopolis. Everything here will be state-of-the-art, will favour development of our country and increase its intellectual potential. I am sure that thousands of innovative, modern products in the sphere of science and technology will be created here, Innopolis University will be working, and companies will be developing. Young people will live here, their children will go to kindergarten. It is a new city, and I am glad that we all took part in its creation,” Dmitry Medvedev said.
“We have done a lot for three years. First start-up facilities of the Specialized Economic Zone Innopolis, the city of Innopolis and the university have been built. I am sure Innopolis will become the IT center of Russia,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.
A.S.Popov technopark, a residential district, campus, university, sports complex, and hostels have been built in Innopolis. Infrastructure will be developing in accordance with the development plan. Special attention will be paid to social infrastructure and launching of facilities necessary for comfortable life in Innopolis.

On 24 April in the Government House of the republic, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin held a joint meeting the Council for Enforcement of Legislation of Languages of Tatarstan and the organizational committee for celebrations of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay which summarized results of work of the regional law enforcement on official languages of the republic and considered progress of the implementation of the plan of main events for preparation and celebration of the 140th birthday of Gabdulla Tukay .
On 21 April, speaking at a briefing in the Government House of the republic, the Head of the Russian Federal Tax Service for Tatarstan Marat Safiullin said that slightly more than one week is left to file an income tax return for 2025 with the tax service. According to the results of the tax campaign 5.5.bn rubles should come to the regional budget, he said and informed who should submit declarations and who is entitled to benefits.
On 13 April in his congratulatory address on the occasion of the Maecenas and Benefactor Day, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin congratulated residents of the republic with the event and wrote: "Tatarstan has always been known for its generous and kind-hearted people who are ready to help the needy and support important social, cultural and educational projects. We all remember with gratitude the outstanding philanthropists – the Akchurin brothers, the Alafuzovs, and the Ushkovs, whose good deeds and generous donations contributed to the development of culture, education, and healthcare in our republic. The glorious traditions are continued by modern philanthropists and patrons of Tatarstan.
