7th KazanSummit to focus on the importance Islamic finance for global trade and investment

On June 10, speaking at a briefing at Tatarstan Cabinet of Ministers, Chief Executive of Tatarstan Investment Development Agency Taliya Minullina said that Kazan will host the 7th International Economic Summit of Russia and the countries of the Organization of Islamic Cooperation on June 15-16.
She said that more than 650 participants from 31 countries have registered already. The main theme for the summit is “Islamic finance for constructive global trade and investment.”
President of the Islamic Development Bank, Dr. Ahmad Mohamed Ali is invited to discuss specific problems related to the Islamic banking. Representatives of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Russian Federation and the Federation Council are also invited to attend the event, Minullina went on to say.
"This year, the summit’s exhibition will include not only traditional enterprises of the republic and export opportunities, but also industrial sites, our technoparks so that we can present the investment potential and engineering infrastructure, excellent investment opportunities Tatarstan have today," the speaker said. She reminded that Russian President Vladimir Putin has formed the Russia-Islamic World Strategic Vision Group, which is headed by Interim Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov.
According to her, today Tatarstan is enhancing its positions as a successful platform for investing and entering the Russian market, coordinating the cooperation between Russia and the countries of the OIC.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
