Mintimer Shaimiev meets Prime Minister of Abkhazia Artur Mikvabia

On June 11, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev met Prime Minister of Abkhazia Artur Mikvabia at the Kazan Kremlin.
Shaimiev welcomed the guest and noted that he has to deal with a difficult, long-term task to protect the status of Abkhazia that was determined by the strive of Abkhazian people to stand up for their opinion. He also added that Tatarstan actively cooperates with Abkhazia within the framework of Russia- Abkhazia relations, and the republics have always had friendly relations. The Treaty of friendship and cooperation was signed between the republics in 1994 with the participation of Vladislav Ardzinba, the President of Abkhazia in 1990-2004.
His 70th anniversary was celebrated in Abkhazia this year in May.
Artur Mikvabia handed over to Mintimer Shaimiev a commemorative coin with Vladislav Ardzinba depicted on it that was made especially for this date.
Shaimiev shared his memories about Ardzinba. In the most difficult years of formation of statehood in Tatarstan and Abkhazia they were like-minded people and companions.
Artur Mikvabia said that the current president of Abkhazia Raul Khadzhimby invited him to Abkhazia.
On 12 January, congratulating employees of the prosecutor’s office with their professional holiday - Day of the employee of the Prosecutor's Office of the Russian Federation- Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin wrote in his address:
“For more than three centuries the prosecutor's office has been the guardian of state and public security as well as constitutional rights and freedoms of citizens of our country.
On 10 January, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipality regions taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatutllin informed that in the current year the Ministry will take part in implementation of five national projects and three state programmes with planned construction and capital overhaul of 172 facilities for the total sum of 17bn rubles.
On 10 January, speaking at a meeting held by Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin in the Government House of the republic with all municipality regions taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Agriculture and Food Marat Zyabbarov informed that it is expected to achieve a comparable growth of produce of 1.5%, including that in food production - at least 2.6% in the agricultural sector.
On 4 January Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin, who is the First Deputy Chairman of the Commission of prevention and elimination of emergency situation and ensuring fire safety of the republic, has taken a decision to put into operation the “Buran” (Snow storm) plan in Tatarstan starting from 2 pm on 4 January until the consequences of adverse meteorological events are eliminated by ministries, departments and organizations which ensure the smooth movement of road and rail transport in winter.
