Rustam Minnikhanov: KazanSummit is a good opportunity to demonstrate the economic opportunities and investment potential of our country with Tatarstan as an example

On June 15, speaking at the strategic forum “Islamic finance for constructive global trade and investment” held within the framework of the KazanSummit 2015, Interim Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that the republic is going to develop the Islamic financing and Kazan has become an effective site for exchanging views on this issue over the past years. He reminded that it is for the seventh time that Kazan has hosted this forum aimed at the development of economic cooperation between Russia and the Islamic world.
«KazanSummit is a good opportunity to demonstrate the economic opportunities and investment potential of our great country with Tatarstan as an example, to show our openness and willingness to be engaged in a dialogue under new political and economic conditions. The KazanSummit contributes to establishing new contacts, concluding agreements on specific projects,” Minnikhanov said.
According to him, Russia attaches great importance to respect for peace and harmony between peoples, which is proved by establishing the Russia – the Islamic World strategic vision group. By the order of Russian President Vladimir Putin Rustam Minnikhanov heads the group.
Minnikhanov went on to say that the first meeting of the group was held in Moscow on June 11, 2015 . In his message to its participants, Putin announced that the states of the Islamic world are the most important partners of Russia in promoting dialogue between the cultures. According to Minnikhanov, Russian President also stressed that the strategic vision group will contribute to enhancing mutual understanding and trust between countries and peoples, setting values of justice, tolerance and humanity throughout the world.
"I am sure that the KazanSummit 2015 will further strengthen economic, trade and investment cooperation between Russia and the Islamic world, cooperation in the field of Islamic financing and banking, " Minnikhanov summed up.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
