General annual meeting of the Association of innovative regions of Russia held in St.Petersburg

On June 19, a general annual meeting of the Association of innovative regions of Russia was held in St.Petersburg within the framework of St. Petersburg international economic forum.
Chairman of Russian State Duma Sergei Naryshkin opened the meeting. He said that the Association has recently celebrated its 5-year anniversary, and it has become an active participant of the innovative economy. “Today time sets new tasks before the association, and innovative approaches play a very important role.
Speaking at the event, Chairman of the association, Interim President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that positive results have been achieved for the last five years. Members of the association are 14 strongest Russian regions, main innovative growing points of the economy.
According to Minnikhanov, the association helps regions to solve problems that need joint resolution. Participation in work of the Council on economic modernization and innovative development is an important part of work of the association.
A number of organizational decisions were made, and the report about activity of the association was approved at the meeting.
CEO of the association Ivan Bortnik announced his decision to leave his post, and noted that it had been a very interesting work.
Rustam Minnikhanov proposed another candidate for this position.
Letters of commendation of the Association of innovative regions of Russia and Letters of Gratitude of Russian Ministry of economic development for the contribution to innovative development of regions were handed over at the meeting .

On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
