Rustam Minnikhanov: Ireland is an innovative country and this way is very interesting for us

On June 30, at his meeting with Minister of Communications, Energy and Natural Resources of Ireland Alex White in Dublin, Interim President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that meetings during this visit to Ireland would be useful for both countries. Minnikhanov thanked leadership of Ireland and Irish Embassy in Russia for organization of the visit and interesting programme.
“Ireland is a rapidly developing country. Its experience in the sphere of innovations, creation and development of startups is interesting for us,” Minnikhanov continued. He added that experts from Tatarstan have been studying experience of Ireland for the last 30 years when significant changes were happening there. Ireland has become innovative and this way is very interesting for us, Minnikhanov said.
Rustam Minnikhanov presented economic and innovative potential of the region focusing on oil production and refining, IT industry, bio- and nano- technologies. He also mentioned that the center of information technologies of Russia, - Innopolis innovative city will be created in the republic.
Minnikhanov invited Mr White to the republic.
Alex White told about the Agency for entrepreneurship development and support rendered by the Irish Government. He noted that in his opinion two factors are important for the development of innovations, - creation and support of innovative infrastructure and maximal coverage on the Internet.
Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Information and Communications Roman Shaikhutdinov told about development of broadband Internet, rendering of electronic state services, and the electronic document management system.

On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
