Rustam Minnikhanov offers to hold one of the meetings of the Intergovernmental Committee of the Russian-Irish Business Development in Kazan

On June 30, in Dublin, at his meeting with Minister for Foreign Affairs and Trade of Ireland – Co-Chairman of Intergovernmental Russian-Irish Committee on Business Development Seán Sherlock, Interim President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov thanked the leadership of Ireland and Irish Embassy in Russia for arranging the visit and interesting programme.
“Ireland is a rapidly developing country. In recent years, you have significantly changed the structure of the economy and become investment-attractive, paying more attention to innovation. In general, all this makes Ireland a serious player in the global market, and we have something to learn here,” Minnikhanov said.
According to Minnikhanov, one of the tasks within the current visit is to establish direct contacts, find areas for further cooperation. We must move forward and work together on specific projects, he said.
“We need to look for opportunities for a mutually beneficial relationship”, Minnikhanov continued.
“The driving force of innovation, first of all, is science and education, universities and research centers and we can facilitate the work in terms of the exchange of students and teachers, as well as in terms of cooperation on research projects,” he said.
Minnikhanov offered Seán Sherlock to consider the possibility of holding a meeting of the Intergovernmental Russian-Irish Committee on Business Development in Kazan.
“We are open for cooperation and willing to share our experience - both in terms of innovation and other areas,” Minnikhanov summed up.

On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
