Congratulations of Interim President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov on Eid al-Fitr holiday
15 July 2015, Wednesday
Dear Muslims of Tatarstan! From the bottom of my heart I congratulate you on the blessed holiday of Eid al-Fitr!
This is a great feast marking the end of the holy month of Ramadan, which is a symbol of spiritual purity, kindness and mercy. Eid al-Fitr instills in us humility, the desire for peace and self-improvement, teaches us to take care of the old and infirm. Keeping the feast during the long and hot summer days provides Muslims a special opportunity to prove their loyalty to God.
Timeless and enduring values inherent to Islam are shared by the ummah of Tatarstan. I am sure that the Muslims of the republic, living in a centuries-long concord with the representatives of other traditional religions will continue to play an active role in the religious and cultural revival, strengthen friendship and mutual understanding. Only living in the unity of the peoples of Russia, we can meet the challenges of our time.
Today, Muslims come together in a joint sacred prayer service, organize a large feast, glorifing Allah and his prophet Muhammad, and make plans for the future.
Let Eid al-Fitr strengthen our spiritual unity and fill our hearts with warmth, joy, kindness and love.
I sincerely wish you happiness, health, peace and prosperity!
