Mintimer Shaimiev meets President of Abkhazia Raul Khajimba

On July 23, at his meeting with President of Abkhazia Raul Khajimba at the Kazan Kremlin, Tatarstan State Counsellor Mintimer Shaimiev thanked him for finding an opportunity to visit the republic in the days of the 16th FINA World Championship.
The delegation of Abkhazia headed by its President arrived in Kazan to visit Kazan Federal University, Himgrad technopolis, Kazan agro-industrial park, IT-park, Alabuga Specialized Economic Zone, OAO “KAMAZ”, the island town of Sviyazhsk and attend the opening ceremony of the 16th FINA World Championship in Kazan.
Before the meeting Mintimer Shaimiev presented the cultural and historical project of the federal significance “Cultural heritage: the ancient town of Bolgar and island town of Sviyazhsk”.
Shaimiev told about social and economic development of Tatarstan and shared his memories about Vladislav Ardzinba, President of Abkhazia in 1990-2004. They were fellows and companions in the most difficult time for Tatarstan and Abkhazia when new statehood was being established.
“Preservation of national identity, traditions and territory of your republic is the main area of your development,” Shaimiev noted.
Areas of cooperation between Tatarstan and Abkhazia were discussed at the meeting.
On 15 December, speaking at a meeting of the competition committee of the regional public competition “The Manager of the Year” about its results in 2025, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin said that the list of 155 participants (nominees), who are heads of enterprises and organizations from various industries and sectors of the economy, for the competition was formed based on recommendations from regional ministries and departments, city and district municipalities, employers' associations and the Federation of Trade Unions of the republic.
On 6 December speaking at a regional meeting held by the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov in the Government House of the republic with all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the regional Minister of Construction, Architecture and Housing Utilities Sector Marat Ayzatullin reported about progress in implementation of the of multi-apartment houses capital overhaul programme.
On 5 December, congratulating volunteers with the International Volunteers Day, Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Leyla Fazleeva wrote in her address: “
Your boundless kindness, sincere desire to help others and active civic position deserve special recognition and deep gratitude. There are over 5,000 volunteer associations operating successfully in Tatarstan, with a total membership of over 220,000 caring people of all ages and professions. Every year the contribution of volunteers into public life of the republic becomes more noticeable.
On 4 December Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Shamil Gafarov, who is the Chief of Staff of the Office of the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic, took part in a strategic session on the establishment of an inter-university campus in the republic being held at the Kazan Aircraft University on 4-6 December with participation of more than 100 people and more than 40 experts in politics, economy, science, education and industry from all over Russia.
