Prime minister of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Minister of foreign trade and development of Finnish Republic Mr. Paavo Vaurynen discussed issues of the further cooperation

Today, the meeting of Prime minister of Republic Tatarstan Rustama Minnikhanov with delegation of Finnish Republic led by Minister of foreign trade and development of the Finnish Republic by Mr. Paavo Matti Vayrynen took place.

Welcoming the guests, Head of the RT Government noted, that « Finland traditionally is one of the largest foreign trade partners of Tatarstan. Unfortunately, world financial crisis has touched our relations, but this phenomenon is temporary. We highly appreciate mutually advantageous trade and economic relations with Finnish partners and we are going to develop them. We are attracted by Finnish experience in use of innovative technologies in such spheres as medicine, education, mechanical engineering, construction, agriculture, etc. as a whole, many directions of activity of the Finnish companies are crossed by what is being made in Tatarstan toady. It is very interesting for us as well what is connected with construction of the International transport corridor « Western Europe - China » which will pass through Finland. As a whole, we have a firm confidence that between the Finnish Republic and Republic Tatarstan mutually advantageous cooperation will be developing successfully ».

We remind that Prime minister of Republic Tatarstan R.N.Minnihanov visited Finland in November 1999 and 2001 During a trip Tatarstan delegation got acquainted with activity of the Finnish technoparks and innovative funds. As a result in Republic Tatarstan a whole network of technoparks and business-incubators has appeared. On the basis of the Sweden -Finnish experience the technopark " Idea " has been created. In January, 2009 between "Idea" and the Finnish technopark of Lahti the memorandum of cooperation was signed.

Minister of foreign trade and development of the Finnish Republic Mr Paavo Vayrynen thanked the Government of Tatarstan for warm reception and the support rendered to the Finnish companies in realization of joint projects. In opinion of Mr. Paavo Vayrinen, the cooperation between businesses of the two regions is likely in the field of construction, including on objects of forthcoming Unversiade-2013, mechanical engineering, a forestry and woo processing, and energy saving technologies. He emphasized that the meeting with Rustam Minnikhanov is «important for the further teamwork ». Mr Paavoо Vayrynen invited Prime-minister of Republic Tatarstan to visit the Finnish Republic with reciprocal visit. The Head of RT Government with gratitude accepted the invitation.

On results of a meeting the cooperation agreement between Investment Venture Fund of Republic Tatarstan and the Innovative center of Finland « Finnod Russia » has been signed. From Republic Tatarstan the given agreement was signed by director of Investment Venture Fund of Republic Tatarstan Ainur Aidekdinov, from the Finnish Republic, director of the Innovative center of Finland « Finnod Russia » Mr Timo Kopponen.

By the way, the visit of Finland delegation will be prolonged two days. Its program - opening of the Tatartsan -Finnish business forum, visiting technopark " Idea ", IT-park, techno-polis «Khimgrad», JSC " Kazanorgsintez ", housing complex which is under construction by the Finnish company, etc. It is planned also signing of the Memorandum of cooperation between the innovative technological center Lahti and Innovative-technological park  « Idea-South East »
