Rustam Minnikhanov: Every year Spasskaya Fair is getting more large-scale

On July 31, in Yelabuga, Interim President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov took part in an official opening of the Spasskaya Fair, which will be held for three days.
In 2008, for the first time after more than half a century break the Spasskaya Fair that was historically held in the city from the XIX century was revived in Yelabuga. This year’s fair gathered more than 1,200 craftsmen from different Russian cities and abroad.
Minnikhanov reminded that he already visited the fair in Yelabuga a few years ago, and every year the event is getting more large-scale. "Today we have set a goal to revive historical traditions and trades that are in demand in our country. I sincerely thank the Administration of Yelabuga, the Ministry of Culture, other departments for being actively involved in this matter, as well as our participants and guests. From the bottom of my heart I congratulate you on the holiday and hope that, despite the rain, the festival will be a success and we will find a lot of friends and buy interesting things,” Minnikhanov said welcoming participants and guests of the fair.
Looking around rows of shopping stalls after the opening ceremony, Minnikhanov draw his special attention to the blacksmith’s counter, where he minted a coin, as well as stalls with honey and leather products.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
