Rustam Minnikhanov: Petrochemical complex is the basis of Tatarstan and Bashkortostan economy

On September 2, Interim President of the republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and Head of Bashkortostan Rustem Khamitov took part in an opening ceremony of the Tatarstan Oil, Gas and Petrochemicals Forum, that started its work in Kazan. The Forum is one of the largest events in the field of the petrochemical industry in Russia, which is supported by the President of Russia, Russian Ministry of Industry and Trade, Russian Ministry of Natural Resources and Environment and Tatarstan Government.
This year, the forum is attended by more than 200 companies, including more than 130 companies from different regions of Russia, more than 50 enterprises of Tatarstan, 16 companies from 9 countries - China, Denmark, USA, Poland, Czech Republic, Germany, Austria, Belarus, India.
The forum holds three themed special exhibitions, six scientific conferences, including an international exhibition, Oil and Gas. Petrochemicals 2015, an international scientific-practical conference, Peculiarities of Exploration and Exploitation of Unconventional Hydrocarbons, and Perspective Directions of Petrochemical Complex Development.
The first International specialized exhibition of plastics and rubbers, Interplastica. Kazan, is held for the first time.
Round tables on use of petrochemical products produced in Tatarstan in capital and road construction are also planned in the framework of the forum.
Speaking at the opening ceremony of the forum, Rustam Minnikhanov said: "Traditionally, before the Day of Oil and Gas Workers, we are holding this forum for the 22th time. Of course, petrochemical complex is the basis for economy of such republics as Tatarstan and Bashkortostan."
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked participants and guests of the forum for attention they paid to this event.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
