Rustam Minnikhanov: Oil and gas industry is the basis of the economy of the republic and the country

On September 5, in Almetyevsk speaking at solemn events dedicated to the Day of workers of oil and gas industry Interim President of the Republic of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov said that oil and gas industry is the basis of the economy of the Republic of Tatarstan and the country, generating the revenue base and being a source of the further growth.

A dramatised performance took place at the city square where thousands of Almetievsk residents and visitors gathered. The main theme was the history of Tatarstan oil industry and the Tatneft Oil Company.

Addressing participants of the event Minnikhanov appreciated the contribution of oil workers to the economic and social development of the republic, and congratulated everyone on the Day of workers of oil and gas industry, saying special words of gratitude to old stagers of the industry.

The event continued with a concert by popular Russian and Tatar pop singers.

Director General of Tatneft Oil Company Nail Maganov, Aide to Tatarstan President on oil industry issues Shafagat Takhautdinov, Head of the Executive Committee of Almetyevsk Municipal District Ayrat Khayrullin, heads of ministries and departments of the Republic of Tatarstan, honoured guests from Russian regions and other officials took part in the events.
