Rustam Minnikhanov: “Hosting Russian Teacher of the Year competition is an honour for Tatarstan”

On September 25, the Teacher of the Year 2015 national competition opened in Kazan.
Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, Russia Minister of Education Dmitry Livanov, Tatarstan Minister of Education Engel Fattakhov, and other officials took part in an opening ceremony at the Kamal State Academic Theatre.
The ceremony began with a spectacular multimedia prologue telling about the importance of passing knowledge down the generations, after which Livanov and Minnikhanov took the stage.
Livanov welcomed the finalists, remarking the event is taking place on the threshold of the Teacher’s Day, celebrated in Russia on October 5. A teacher from Nurlat (Tatarstan) Alla Golovenkina was voted as Russia’s teacher of the year 2014 that is why the final of the all-Russian competition is held in Kazan, he reminded.
The minister thanked all the finalists, saying they already won in their regions, displaying proficiency. “You are in for a very complex though interesting final stage of the Russian Teacher of the Year. I wish you all success!”
Minnikhanov noted it was an honour for Tatarstan to host the national competition. “The best of the best teachers are here,” he stressed, thanking Alla Golovenkina, in particular. “Had it not been for your victory, this would have never happened. It is important for us to show what our Tatarstan and our capital is. I am sure we will provide every condition for the competition to be interesting and productive. Each of you has passed a selection round – so may the best one win,” Minnikhanov said .
The Teacher of the Year 2015 runs in Kazan between September 24 and October 3, with as many as 78 teachers from all parts of the country taking part in it. The contestants will present a class, an education project, take part in a teacher conference, and will compete for the master teacher title.
On May 26, speaking at a briefing in the Cabinet of Ministers of the republic held in a videoconference mode with participation of all municipal regions of Tatarstan and focused on events scheduled for June 1, International Children’s Day, as well as the implementation of the “Summer in Tatarstan” programme, Deputy Prime Minister of the republic Leyla Fazleeva appealed that parents should closely supervise their children during recreational activities near water in order to prevent accidents.
On 18 May ay the CIPR conference in Nizhniy Nogorod the Tatarstan Deputy Prime Minister Roman Shaykhutdinov, the Rector of the Innopolis University Aleksandr Gasnikpov and the Vice-rector of the University Yevgeny Bobrov will take part at round tables session of the conference.
Experts will discuss the role of Tatarstan and Innopolis as one of the key technological centers of the country and how regional innovative platforms help to solve tasks of the whole Russian industry. A special emphasis will be placed on the digital transformation of the oil and gas sector and how large clusters and scientific and technological centers are becoming drivers of industry change.
On 16 May, speaking at a meeting in the Government House of the republic held by the regional Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin with participation of the Rais (Head) of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov and all municipalities taking part in it via videoconference, the Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Zyabbarov reported that the sowing of spring crops is in full swing in the republic with 1m 38 thousand hectares or 61 per cent of the planned have been sown.
On May 14, on the sidelines of the XVII International Economic Forum “Russia-the Islamic World: KazanForum”, Tatarstan Prime Minister Aleksey Pesoshin and Head of the Federal Service for Accreditation Dmitry Volvach signed an agreement on interaction and cooperation in the development of the halal industry.
