On November 24, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Head of the Chechen Republic Ramzan Kadyrov visited an exhibition of KAMAZ special equipment in Grozny.
A number of models of KAMAZ special vehicles: trucks, buses, high-capacity vehicles, construction equipment, etc. were presented at the exhibition.
Talking to journalists Minnikhanov noted that the Chechen Republic is one of the most dynamically developing regions of Russia.
"The economic growth is assessed by how transport and special vehicles, including cranes, concrete mixers and other special machinery, are bought. For the KAMAZ the Chechen Republic is a very profitable market, which, in fact, builds a lot of roads, houses and public buildings. We should be patriots of our country and buy Russian products,” Rustam Minnikhanov.
He went on to share his impressions from his visit to Chechnya.
“My first time here was when I came to watch a football game. I was stunned then, when I saw Grozny. I need to say the entire republic is under construction, it is very clean and tidy,” Minnikhanov commented. “A lot has been done here and you may be proud of your chief executive.”
Kadyrov noted that under the sanctions imposed on Russia its regions needed to increase their efforts in terms of import substitution.
“The Kamaz special vehicles displayed in the exhibtion in Grozny today vividly testify to the anti-Russia sanctions not being an obstacle for domestic manufacturers. We are not hampered by economic blockades and sanctions. We need to continue to increase homemade production. All the plans the West and Europe had have fallen through. I am sure Russia will display best economic results in the near future,” he said, adding the local authorities intended to borrow Tatarstan experience in economy and industry.
