Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov takes part in Open Government Against Corruption Forum

On November 30, during his working trip to Moscow region Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov took part in the Open Government Against Corruption Forum held at the House of Moscow Oblast Government, which was attended by government officials, law enforcers and public activists.

Opening the event, Governor of Moscow region Andrei Vorobiev introduced participants, including Russian Minister of Mass Communications Nikolai Nikiforov, Chairwoman of Russian State Duma Committee for Security and Countering Corruption Irina Yarovaya, Chief of Federal Antimonopoly Service Igor Artemiev, and others.“It is pleasant that this hall is full of representatives from most diverse territories,” Andrei Vorobiev said. “It matters to us that all the key figures responsible for the openness of the government openness are present here. Life is complicated, and state and municipal authorities everywhere in the world focus on the transparency of the process. We are interested in the processes the municipal and state authorities are involved in being completely predictable.”

He noted that the event was dedicated to developing new ways and mechanisms allowing for effective counter corruption work.

“Moscow, Saint-Petersburg, Tatarstan are the leaders,” the official stressed. “But the Moscow region aims for all the efforts focusng on preventing challenging hidden processes.”

The event includes a range of round table discussions on the government openness, providing welfare services online, and other matters. Special attention will be given to public contracting in the field of healthcare, education, land management, and promoting competition and transparency for businesses.

The event is scheduled for November 30 to December 1.

According to Vorobiev, the Moscow Region will borrow the experience of the republic of Tatarstan issues related to fighting corruption, adding that in particular the Public Inspector system could be effective. Khalikov told those present about some other projects developed in Tatarstan and aimed at providing information to individuals. Online document processing, for one, was a powerful anti-corruption instrument, he said.

“There are things we can learn from Republic of Tatarstan. We will by all means borrow this expertise, use the Public Inspector system,” Vorobiev said at the plenary session.
