18 December 2015, Friday

On December 18, speaking at a traditional ceremony of summing up results of motorsports season 2015 in the republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said: “We need to keep on supporting motorsports in the republic.”

Speaking at the event, Minnikhanov congratulated everyone on the 20th anniversary of Tatarstan Motorsports Federation. He noted that this kind of sport had been developed before, but steps made in 1995 are now producing tangible results.

"Today, Tatarstan is one of the most automotive regions of Russia. We are proud of our riders, first of all "KAMAZ-Master”, their success in autocross and rally- cross. We have two car plants, we are a strong machine-building republic," he said.

According to Minnikhanov, special attention should be paid to the training of future sportsmen. "The work with pilots should be started at carting schools. A good platform for training is needed. It is necessary to support winter races. This is a real opportunity to introduce our youth to the potential we have. Not all of them will become riders, some will choose technical jobs. But your example is very important," Minnikhanov addressed to those present in the hall.

Then he handed in a number of state awards of the Republic of Tatarstan to particularly distinguished representatives of Tatarstan motorsports.

Delivering his speech, Egorov also congratulated everyone on the 20th anniversary of Tatarstan Motorsports Federation and thanked Minnikhanov for his constant support and assistance.

Minister of Youth and Sports of the republic Vladimir Leonov, President of Tatarstan Motorsports Federation Ivan Egorov, pilots and veterans of motorsports of the republic took part in the event.
