On February 12, Russian President Vladimir Putin launched the Ammonium plant manufacturing complex in Mendeleyevsk, Tatarstan. The official ceremony was held in Naberezhnye Chelny. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in the event.
Vladimir Putin congratulated participants of the ceremony on launching the plant at full capacity, and thanked everyone who took part in the project implementation.
Rustam Minnikhanov thanked Vladimir Putin for supporting the project.
The modern high-tech complex, one of priority investment projects, was established on the basis of a mineral fertilizer plant in Mendeleyevsk.
The decision about financing the construction of the complex was made at the session of supervisory board of Vnesheconombank chaired by Vladimir Putin on September 15, 2008. The technology of a Danish company Haldo Topsoe was chosen after detailed development of the project.
The contract which provided construction of the main manufacturing lines was concluded with consortium of companies within Mitsubishi Heavy Industries, Sojitz Corporation, and CNCEC in Japan on November 13, 2010. The infrastructure was created by a Russian company JSC NIIK “Design and Research Institute of Urea and Organic Synthesis Products”.
The funding of 1.4 bln dollars was provided by Vnesheconombank.
