Tatarstan President: “Prosto Moloko’s products are of better quality than European products”

4 March 2016, Friday

On March 3, on the threshold of the International Women's Day, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov accompanied by Minister of Agriculture and Food of the republic Marat Akhmetov visited the Prosto Moloko dairy factory and met with its female employees.

Minnikhanov got acquainted with a wide range of products the company makes, as well as its bottling line and quality inspection laboratory.

“You have a great production facility and competitive products,” he shared later during a meeting with plant’s female staff.  He also noted that the plant  arranged direct supplies from manufacturers.

Minnikhanov went on to say that the company is experiencing financial recovery. “It is a long way that, I would say, you have already made. I am sure with this line of products nothing like that will ever happen again. No doubt, producers like you need to be on the market,” he stressed.

The staff members expressed their concern about the prospect of training new personnel, expected to replace the current employees. In response, he suggested establishing a resource centre. “Choose a school or more, where specialists will be trained, prepare equipment and make special training classes,” he said. It was proposed to set up two such centres. “We are willing to be involved in this programme,”  Tatarstan President said.

Plant’s employees also asked questions related to import substitution, building in Russia a plant to manufacture equipment needed by the dairy plant. Building such a plant domestically would be ineffective due to a low demand for equipment, Minnikhanov replied. “We should try to invite equipment manufacturers and offer to build local production facilities inside Russia,” he explained.

Answering questions from the press, Minnikhanov noted the importance of such meetings.
