President of Tatarstan Rustam Minnikhanov: we are interested in developing cooperation with Diamond Aircraft

Issues of organizing cooperation between Diamond Aircraft (Austria) and JSC “KAPO after S.P. Gorbunov” have been discussed today at a meeting of RT President Rustam Minnikhanov with Director General of Diamond Aircraft Corporation Christian Dries. The meeting has been held in House of RT government.

By words of Rustam Minnikhanov Tatarstan is interested in developing production of Diamond Aircraft on the basis of Tatarstan industrial enterprises.

Christian Dries briefly presented Diamond Aircraft and told about types of aircrafts produced by the company.

Airplanes produced at Diamond Aircraft are made of composed materials and have unique flying and exploitation characteristics.

This visit of Diamond Aircraft leadership to Tatarstan is the first one.

“Diamond Aircraft Industries” is an Austrian producer of aircrafts for general use and motor-gliders.

The company was founded in Friesach city (Austria) in 1981 (Hoffmann Flugzeugbau) for producing composed motor-gliders Н36.

“Hoffman Aircraft Limited” launched production in 1985. That time the headquarters were situated in Vienna.

In 1987 airport in Wiener Neustadt became new place for company’s location.

In 1991 a parent company was renamed to “HOAC AG” and acquired Dries Family.

In 1992 for the purpose of getting entry to the market of Northern America the company launched production capacities in London, Ontario and Canada. That plant was called “Dimona Aircraft” and was later changed for “Diamond Aircraft” in 1996.
