On April 7, speaking at the Tatarstan-Czech business forum, held in Brno, South Moravia region, Czech Republic, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov said that Tatarstan welcomes establishment of business contacts and business development between Tatarstan and Czech partners.

The forum timed to coincide with the working visit of Minnikhanov to Brno at the invitation of the Governor of the South Moravian region Michal Hašek.

Welcoming participants of the forum, Minnikhanov noted that it is one of the important tasks today to determine the right business vector. He expressed his confidence that the political climate has calmed down and it is necessary to maintain business contacts and develop cooperation with potential and existing partners.

Minnikhanov said that despite the decline in trade with the Czech Republic, potential for cooperation is great. Thus, according to him, promising cooperation areas include petrochemicals, power engineering, automobile production, automotive components, pharmaceuticals, engineering, agriculture and tourism.

“We invite representatives of Czech business to Tatarstan. Our region can become a good platform for entering the Russian market and further promotion of the products,” he said.

Minnikhanov briefly mentioned some of the most important investment projects, being implemented in the republic and wished the Czech business success and prosperity.

The economic and investment potential of Tatarstan was presented during the forum, which resulted in signing some agreements between Czech and Tatarstan business representatives.
