On May 10, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov, who arrived on a working trip to the Czech Republic, laid wreath to the monument of Soviet soldiers installed on Olšany Cemeteries in Prague.
The memorial plaque reads: “In eternal memory of the Red Army soldiers fallen for the honour and independence of the Soviet Motherland and liberation of Slavonic people from fascism”. 420 Soviet soldiers who died in 1945 were buried there.
Russian Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to the Czech Republic Aleksandr Zmeevsky, military attaché of Russian Embassy in the Czech Republic Igor Shepin and other officials took part in the ceremony.
