Rustam Minnikhanov takes part in meeting on issues of developing petrochemical sector in Russia

RT President Rustam Minnikhanov took part in meeting on issues of developing petrochemical sector in Russia. The meeting was held by Chairman of RF Government Vladimir Putin in Nizhny Novgorod (in building of regional government in the Nizhny Novgorod Kremlin). The meeting was also attended by Plenipotentiary to RF President in Volga federal district Grigory Rapota, Deputy chairman of RF Government Sergey Sobyanin, RF Minister of natural resources and ecology Yury Trutnev, RF Minister of energy Sergey Shmatko and chiefs of federal structures of petrochemical enterprises.

Vladimir Putin informed that according to technical regulations accepted by RF Government it is forbidden to produce petrol which doesn’t meet standards Euro-3. Changes were also made in Tax code, - from now onwards the higher quality of motor fuel is, the lower excises are.

Head of Russian government reminded likewise that problems of petrochemistry had been already discussed in November, 2009. That time assignments were given about elaboration of long-term agreements among all participants of production chain.

By words of Chairman of RF government within the next years major companies are planning to implement new gas-condensate deposits in Siberian regions, thus, resource petrochemical base will enlarge. Vladimir Putin put much emphasis on necessity to withdraw all infrastructure problems and administrative barriers for creation of new perspective refining complexes. “This is a key issue for ensuring competitiveness of the sector”, - he said.

Vladimir Putin defined one more urgent task – adoption of producing new high-tech materials for implementation in construction and road sectors. Here it is necessary to use cluster approach, to create new production sites at earlier prepared areas with necessary infrastructure. “Tomsk oblast and Tatarstan already have such experience and this area is being developed in Nizhny Novgood as well”, - Vladimir Putin said.

Chairman of RF Government suggested creating National Centre for development of chemical technologies on the basis of one profile institution.
