Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov visits the Chelyabinsk Region

October 3, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov is on a working visit to the Chelyabinsk Region. Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region Mikhail Yurevich and other officials met the Tatarstan delegation led by President Rustam Minnikhanov at the airport.

As part of the visit to Chelyabinsk, Rustam Minnikhanov will visit the Chelyabinsk Pipe-Rolling Plant where he will also attend the meeting on issues of industrial cooperation.

Then, the Tatarstan delegation is to meet with representatives of the Congress of Tatars of the Chelyabinsk Region chaired by Lena Kolesnikova. The meeting will be held at the Glinka Chelyabinsk Opera and Ballet Theatre.

Rustam Minnikhanov and Mikhail Yurevich will have a meeting at the residence of the Governor of the Chelyabinsk Region. It is expected that during the meeting the Agreement on trade and economic, scientific and technical, social and cultural cooperation between the Republic of Tatarstan and the Chelyabinsk Region and the Protocol of events in 2011-2013 as part of the Agreement will be signed.

The previous agreement between the Republic of Tatarstan and South Urals was signed in 1999. Kazan and Chelyabinsk have been partner cities since 2002.
