On June 27, in Moscow, the congress of the United Russia political party has proposed candidates for State Duma members in the regional group of the federal list and six single-member districts of Tatarstan. Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov has become a leader of the regional group of the United Russia political party list.
Tatarstan territorial group is one of the most numerous, with 14 candidates included in the list. The regional branch of the United Russia party in Tatarstan is the largest in the country, with 137,000 citizens of the republic being its members. The United Russia has an overwhelming majority in the legislature and all representative bodies of the republic, with a total 6202 people’s deputies of all levels of power. Now there are 13 party members from Tatarstan in the State Duma from. According to the results of the September elections, the United Russia party intends to increase the number of its representatives in the lower house of parliament.
