Rustam Minnikhanov led regional election list of the United Russia political party to the State Duma

On June 27, in Moscow, the congress of the United Russia political party has proposed candidates for State Duma members in the regional group of the federal list and six single-member districts of Tatarstan.  Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov has become a leader of the regional group of the United Russia political party list.

Tatarstan territorial group is one of the most numerous, with 14 candidates included in the list. Among representatives of the republic are Minister of Agriculture Marat Akhmetov, State Duma Deputy from Tatarstan Aleksandr Sidyakin and ex-Minister of Health, Deputy Finance Minister Airat Farrakhov. In single-member districts the United Russia has put forward Fatikh Sibagatullina (Volga District), Ildar Gilmutdinov (Moscow District), Airat Khairullin (Nizhnekamsk District), Alphiya Kogogina (Naberezhnye Chelny Disctrict), Rinat Khayrov (Almetyevsk District) and Irshat Minkin (Central District ).

The regional branch of the United Russia party in Tatarstan is the largest in the country, with 137,000 citizens of the republic being its members.  The United Russia has an overwhelming majority in the legislature and all representative bodies of the republic, with a total 6202 people’s deputies of all levels of power. Now there are 13 party members from Tatarstan in the State Duma from. According to the results of the September elections, the United Russia party intends to increase the number of its representatives in the lower house of parliament. This will allow protecting the interests of the republic at the federal level more effectively.
