Rustam Minnikhanov met with Head of Forestry department on Volga Federal District Andrey Karpilovich

RT President Rustam Minnikhanov met with Head of Forestry department on Volga Federal District Andrey Karpilovich in Kazan Kremlin.

RT Minister of forestry Nail Magdeev took part in the meeting.

Debates were devoted to development of forestry in Tatarstan, construction of forest selection seed-growing centre in Sabinsky municipal region.

By words of Nail Magdeev, Head of Forestry department on Volga Federal District Andrey Karpilovich told Rustam Minnikhanov about results of planned revision of activity of RT Ministry of forestry as regards use, protection and reproduction of forests. The revision has been conducted in October, 14-28. Specialists of RF Forestry department visited forestry areas, nurseries, worked with documents, examined plans of land and air patrolling of RT forestry.

On the whole, the commission positively characterized activity of RT Ministry of forestry, RT government and Tatarstan leadership in the sphere of forest relations.

Andrey Karpilovich positively assessed activity of the ministry as regards fire-prevention protection of forests in summer 2010, measures on fire extinguishing and well-organized work of RT Ministry of forestry and other departments.

Andrey Karpilovich and Rustam Minnikhanov discussed likewise construction of forest selection seed-growing centre in Sabinsky municipal region. It is expected that launching of the centre will provide planting stock with better hereditary characteristics for the whole Volga federal district and other regions, will let adopting new technologies and carry stable work on forest reproduction and forest-growing. Currently it is especially urgent in connection with passed fires and dry summer 2010.

Moreover, parties discussed realization of a project that implies construction of plant for processing low-grade wood (birch, aspen). The project is being implemented jointly with the company Kastamonu Enntegre (Turkey).
