Rustam Minnikhanov meets Ambassador of Sudan to Russia Nadir Yousif Babiker

On July 12, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov met Ambassador of Sudan to Russia Nadir Yousif Babiker, who had arrived in Tatarstan the day before.

Before the meeting, Nadir Yousif Babiker has already visited KAMAZ PJSC, and OOO “Trubostroi” in Naberezhnye Chelny.

Today Nadir Yousif Babiker will visit ZAO “KAPO Avia” and “Kazan helicopters” PJSC, meet representatives of Spiritual Muslim Administration of the Republic of Tatarstan and Chamber of Commerce and Industry.

“Africa is a unique country, with its rich natural resources and manpower potential, which arouses interest among industrially developed countries,” Rustam Minnikhanov said.

Speaking about cooperation between Tatarstan and Sudan, Minnikhanov noted that KAMAZ and Kazan helicopters plant supply their products to Africa. However, the trade turnover made 13.8 mln dollars in 2015 and should be increased, he added.

Rustam Minnikhanov continued that Tatarstan is strengthening contacts with Islamic world and OIC countries, and in accordance with Russian President’s order he heads the Strategic Vision Group “Russia-Islamic world”. He told about economic and industrial potential of the republic, especially in the sphere of oil-refining and petrochemistry, engineering and high technologies.

During the meeting Nadir Yousif Babiker conveyed greetings from Sudan Government to Rustam Minnikhanov, and expressed interest in developing cooperation with Tatarstan as one of the leading Russian regions.
