On July 14, Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov has been included in the Russian Government Commission on Regional Development.
Russian Prime Minister Dmitry Medvedev signed a decree on a composition of the Government Commission on Regional Development on July 9, 2016.
The commission includes representatives of federal executive bodies, heads of the Russian regions, deputies of the State Duma and Federation Council members.
Deputy Prime Minister of Russia Dmitry Kozak has been appointed the Chairman of the Commission.
It is assumed that this decision will allow organizing the interaction of federal and regional authorities and other organizations in dealing with territorial planning issues, intergovernmental relations and problems related to the development of regions.
The Government Commission on Territorial Planning had been reorganized into the Government Commission on Regional Development.
