Ildar Khalikov meets with representatives of Siemens concern

On August 2, at his meeting with representatives of the Siemens company, Tatarstan Prime Minister Ildar Khalikov said that over recent years, the republic has been actively developing relations with a number of German companies, including Siemens.

Khalikov stressed that, despite the current political situation, Tatarstan continues strengthening economic relations with its German partners. Thus, the total trade turnover between Tatarstan and Germany amounted to 1.2 bln US dollars last year. Khalikov reminded that Tatarstan delegation has paid a number of visits to regions of Germany such as Thuringia, Saxony, and other lands.

He continued that direct flights from Kazan to Frankfurt had been set up, which also contributes to strengthening cooperation and partnership relations.

The Siemens company has its office in Kazan and a lot of partner-companies throughout Tatarstan. At present, relations between Tatarstan and the company are developing in the framework of a cooperation agreemen signed t in November 2012 in London by Tatarstan President Rustam Minnikhanov and Vice President of  Siemens AG Pedro Miranda.

The parties agreed to increase cooperation in energy, energy efficiency, energy supply, industry, ecology, construction, housing and utilities, building and structure security, healthcare, transport, sport, tourism, informatisation, education, as well as skills improvement and project financing.
