Rustam Minnikhanov: “All planned tasks regarding XXVII World summer student games in Kazan in 2013 to be realized in time”

RT President Rustam Minnikhanov informed that major sport objects for Universiade 2013 have already been constructed. “Next year all the sport objects except for football stadium will be finished. Universiade village to be completed as well”, - head of republic said. By his words, transport infrastructure is to be prepared. Currently, this process is under way. President of Tatarstan pointed out other issues which need consideration, - “informatization and security”. “We have federal support in these issues. I think all intended tasks on conducting World summer student games will be realized in time”, - Rustam Minnikhanov said.

The village should become the main object of student competitions. It will consist of residential complex meant for 15 000 people, complex of public food services, medical centre and entertainment complex. A training centre with stadium and sport gyms will be located on the territory of Universiade village. About 14 000 sportsmen from 170 countries and 100 000 guests will arrive in Kazan.

World student games were for the first time held in Moscow in 1973. For the second time the capital of Tatarstan will host the games in July-August 2013. Competitions will be conducted by 13 obligatory and 13 additional kinds of sport.

Score of Olympic events in Russia has started from 39th World chess Olympiad in Khanty-Mansiysk. XXVII Universiade 2013 in Kazan and XXII and to be followed by Winter Olympic Games in Sochi 2014.
